Introducing Hope for the Cities

In March of 2020, as a response to COVID-19 shut downs, leaders from Wylie ISD asked The Cross Church if they could help provide meals for families with children who relied on free or reduced cost meals that would normally be provided at school.

Since March of 2020, volunteers from the church and the broader community have gathered weekly to organize, box, and hand deliver meals to area families dealing with food insecurity. The church also expanded its benevolence program to begin helping those families with financial assistance.

In the process of getting to spend one-on-one time with hundreds of families, the team began to see an opportunity to expand from short-term benevolence to long-term, holistic support.

Today, Hope for The Cities is a registered 501(c)(3) that provides short-term benevolence assistance and long-term coaching designed to help our Friends believe in and own their potential for a better future.
